Mnguashima V. Soomiyol is a Ph.D. student in the Public Affairs and Community Development program at Rutgers University–Camden. Her research interests focus on livelihood, nonprofit organizations, community-based research, and interventions and initiatives aimed at improving access and fostering social justice in distressed and vulnerable communities. Mnguashima is dedicated to studying and understanding interventions and public policies that enhance livelihoods and promote equity.
Most recently, she worked as a research assistant and Community First Fellow under the Center for Urban Research and Education (CURE) during the spring semester.Prior to her studies at Rutgers University–Camden, Mnguashima served as a university lecturer at the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, Nigeria, where she taught and supervised undergraduate students
