Joseph L. Heckman, a 2025 Master of Public Health graduate from Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health, specializing in Epidemiology. He graduated from Rowan University with a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and a minor in Psychology, where he also broadened his global perspective through a Semester at Sea study abroad program.

Joseph’s public health interests center on infectious disease prevention, health disparities, and the intersection of epidemiological data with community health outcomes. His diverse experiences include conducting county-level health disparity analyses, developing infectious disease prevention protocols, and contributing to community needs assessments.

During his time as an Epidemiological Intern at the Salem County Department of Health, Joseph collaborated with lead epidemiologists on outbreak management, developed educational resources for the public, and created the department’s first standardized infectious disease prevention protocol.

Joseph has demonstrated his data analysis expertise as a Data Analyst at Pink Clover Data Solutions to uncover patterns in health disparities across New Jersey counties. Also Joseph has contributed to academic development as an R programming instructor at Emory University, where he guided undergraduates through statistical programming concepts and fostered analytical thinking.

He is driven by a passion for improving health outcomes through data-driven solutions, community engagement, and effective public health communication. He looks forward to continuing to contribute to the advancement of public health through research, collaboration, and innovative data analysis.
